Adventures in Love

Our Adventures in Love program is composed of trips up to two weeks in length and up to 20 persons in size. The trips are created primarily to visit the children at our partner ministries and to spend time interacting with them. Some kind of service project is usually associated with the mission (VBS, light construction, school visits, etc) but these are never the focus of the trip.

We Provide:

  • Training, including 4 pre-field meetings and 1 post-field meeting: Information on topics such as travel safety, cultural issues, biblical perspectives, team building, and many others

  • Administrative support: Coordination of trip logistics including flights, lodging, food, transportation

  • Leadership: Orphanos staff member to travel and lead the team

  • Updates: Blog entries while the team is on field to communicate with supporters, family, and friends

  • Financial support: Manage trip finances and donations responsibly, with NO FEE for our service!

Qualifications:

Adventures in Love trips differ based on location and project. General qualifications for all short-term missionaries include:

  • Know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior

  • Have a mature, consistent, godly lifestyle; free of harmful addictive behaviors

  • Work must be with Children at Risk in developing nations.

  • Agree with Orphanos’ Statement of Beliefs

  • Adhere to our moral/ethical behavioral policy.

Expectations:

This trip’s training program includes the completion of five major components: the application process, Adventure Guide Handbook, Adventure Buddy (mentor), volunteer hours, and mandatory team meetings. We believe that each component is uniquely important for a successful and life-changing trip.

*All applications are approved/declined on an individual basis by the staff and Board of Orphanos. Exceptions can be made, but all decisions by Orphanos are final.
