Samuel's Sanctuary (Belmopan, Belize)
The most urgent priorities are numbered below:
  1. Plumbing to all buildings, plumbing to septics, and pressure pumps: $2,000
  2. Generator to help with power outages: $1,000
  3. BY JUNE 17th, the Roselands need a pre-fab house to accommodate teams: $8,000-10,000
  4. Caretaker salary for security and help: $500 per month

  • Well for drinking water and rain catch back-up during dry season: $6,000
  • Tiles for 3 Buildings: $3,000
  • Paint for 3 Buildings: $500
  • 2 Rain Catches: $350
  • 15 bunk beds: $3,000
  • 30 mattresses: $3,000
  • Linens (sheets, mattress covers, towels, shower curtains): $1,500
  • Tables and benches for dining hall: $1,200
  • Kitchen cabinets and storage: $900
  • Appliances (stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer): $2,000
  • Extra bathroom in dorm (wall, door, fixtures, plumbing materials, labor): $1,000
All other costs involving the running of the property (labor, water, electric, food) are currently being covered by the Roseland family. Initial set-up will accommodate staff, interns, and short-term mission teams scheduled for summer 2012.

  • Future Needs - Remainder of the purchase price of the property to be paid in lump sums over the next 5 years - $168,750
We are working towards residency status as well as certification to run the Children’s Home. Belize Government requires a potential Children’s Home be completely ready before certification. Once certified, we will need to purchase additional beds and furniture to accommodate the children.
