November 2004 Lar Batista Biblico Update

This summer was a really busy one, so much so that we have not been writing more to keep you updated on the events here. As you probably know, we received 5 teams and we hosted various programs and they all were a huge blessing, but they all demanded a lot of us. On top of that we had the situation with Pai's health and that was very stressful and also time consuming to us all.

I (Grace) am writing on behalf of Pai and Mae, but they will be writing more soon and give you first hand information on things that are happening there since I left. As I say, relax, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy some family news! We have not written in a while, so you might laugh and be surprised, or laugh and even cry as you read it — but above all, I hope you will be lead to pray for Lar and praise the Lord for what he is doing and ask Him to hear as we pray for what we need. Enjoy!

Pai's health

You have probably been with us though all this difficult and uncertain time with Pai undergoing surgery and also all the treatment that followed it. We have really felt all the prayers and blessings the Lord has showered upon us as a result of your prayers! Thank you so much for lifting us up in prayer. Pai is doing better and the best news we got last week is that he will not need a second surgery! The two incisions are healing and the medication is working well. Of course it takes more time for him to heal because of his diabetes. We are praying that Pai would follow instructions and his diet and he should be a lot better soon. He was really glad with the surprise visit of Luke Espelund (our summer intern for last year), a pre-med student who came to check on Pai! He was very excited and felt blessed to have Luke come all the way to see him and the family.

Please keep on praying for Pai and for his nurse, Mr. Daniel. That he would come to know the Lord.
