Last month we shared a lot of problems we were having. Thankfully, this month we get to share God’s solutions to many of those problems!

Worker Solution:

We currently have 2 men helping with building, clearing land, making rock pathways, etc. as each day brings us closer to our goals. Christian continues to faithfully ride the bus every morning an hour to get here, works hard all day, then returns home which sometimes takes him up to 2 hours. God has recently blessed us greatly with Daniel, a Christian man from the local village who rides his bike 25 min. through the mountains to come to work. Daniel has the sweetest spirit and does whatever we ask without questioning or complaining. He is a true example of a servant!!

Water Solution:

We now have a well pump and are using hoses to fill water containers for taking showers and general water usage. The plumbing for the kitchen and dining hall is almost complete and we are able to wash dishes in the kitchen sink and wash clothes in the washer instead of the river. After 3 months, we are just days away from being able to take a hot shower! We still have a lot of plumbing to run as we still need to plumb the dorms and tie everything in to the well. Meanwhile, Melissa and Rebekah have become semi-professional plumbers and spend a lot of time at Builder’s our nearest hardware store. They even gave us Builder’s t-shirts!! They accidentally gave us youth sizes, but that was OK since Christian was able to give them to his kids.

Security Solution:

This isn’t the way any of us expected, but God provided for our security through our neighbors. He has given us favor in all of our neighbors’ eyes and they are all looking out for us and wanting us to succeed. We still need a full-time caretaker and dogs, but in the meantime we haven’t had anyone else try to come on the property.

Work In Progress:

We’re still waiting for a solution to the internet problems. The satellite has continued to be a trial, making Dino’s work very difficult. It runs very slowly, which is also why there are no pictures with this update! The continual power outages also haven’t helped and we’re praying for the funds to be able to buy a back-up generator. On the bright side, we’ve gotten to know Kishon and Kirk (the satellite boys) very well and the guys from the electric company wave when they drive by!

Isaiah 64:4 "For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him."
